Anthony "AJ" Joshua (26-3-0, 23 KOs) delivered a crushing blow in the seventh round on Saturday at the O2 Arena in London, sending Robert "The Nordic Nightmare" Helenius (32-5-0, 21 KOs) to the canvas with a powerful right hook for a knockout victory.

Joshua flawlessly executed his strategic approach, pursuing his opponent right from the opening bell in his quest for a decisive knockout.

The initial five rounds seemed like a slow start for AJ, eventually paving the way for him to seize command in the sixth round.

Helenius aimed to prolong the bout, but Joshua was not really active until halfway through the fight.

The knockout in the seventh round served as undeniable evidence of Joshua's supremacy within the heavyweight division, even though Helenius stepped into the fight with merely a week's notice.

Initially set to face Dillian Whyte, Joshua encountered a last-minute setback as Whyte tested positive for banned substances the previous week, prompting the Nigerian-born British to secure a substitute opponent.

Joshua wants two more fights

In his post-bout presser, AJ said he intends to enter the ring twice over the upcoming year.

Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed AJ's forthcoming bout is slated against Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia, with the finer points of the arrangement currently being fine-tuned. AJ will then take on Tyson Fury, according to Hearn's plan.

Joshua also praised Helenius for his performance, via BBC:

"I told him to please come again," Joshua said. "In the modern era of boxing, a loss is like self-destruction."

Joshua uninterested in Ngannou’s bout

As Sports Brief also reported Joshua has ruled out fighting Ngannou anytime soon, despite the Cameroonian looking for an opponent.

The former UFC Heavyweight champion has been looking for a high-profile boxing match since his release from the promotion earlier this year.

Ngannou expressed an interest in fighting Wilder, Fury or Joshua, but the superstar trio could be involved in something more significant.
