- Ngannou is considered a huge underdog, but Tom Aspinall believes he always has a chance
- British fighter Aspinall has been brought in as a training partner for Fury for the big fight
Tyson Fury is bringing in the big guns for his fight against Francis Ngannou.
The WBC Heavyweight Champion will take on the former UFC Heavyweight Champion on October 29 in Saudi Arabia.
While initially thought to be an exhibition bout, it has now been confirmed that the fight will go on both men’s records, and Fury is therefore taking no chances.
As noted by The Mirror, Fury will bring in UFC fighter Tom Aspinall to help him prepare for the battle against the Cameroonian-born heavyweight.
"I actually spoke to Tyson, and he needs some help with his training and stuff, so we might have a little link-up and explore that a little bit," Aspinall said.
The British MMA heavyweight has partnered with Fury before, and while many are ruling out Ngannou’s chances of winning, Aspinall believes he stands a chance anytime he gets into a fight.
"If you stick Ngannou in a boxing ring or a cage with somebody, he's always got a chance of winning,” Aspinall said.
"As far as skill level, Tyson will absolutely school him. Tyson is worlds apart from his level. Over the course of 12 rounds, it's a tough task for Ngannou to win that fight unless he catches him early," he added.
While Fury won’t be defending his title against the former UFC champion, Aspinall hopes to get a title shot at the current UFC champion.
As noted by Sky Sports, Aspinall is eager to face the current heavyweight champion, Jon Jones. Aspinall set his sights on the champion after defeating Marcin Tybura at UFC Fight Night.
