- Karim Mandonga 'Mtu Kazi' went down to Daniel Wanyonyi in their boxing rematch on Saturday evening
- Wanyonyi won via a unanimous decision from the judges after sending Mandonga sprawling
- The boxers invited the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission to organise another similar fight
Daniel Wanyonyi exacted his revenge over Karim Mandonga 'Mtu Kazi' during their non-title middleweight boxing clash on July 22.
The bout, which was staged at the Sarit Centre Expo, saw Wanyonyi get one better of his Tanzanian rival via a unanimous decision.
The fight was highly anticipated, given that Mandonga had won the first round in January via a TKO decision in the fifth round. The big-talking 39-year-old had promised to beat Wanyonyi again.
However, the Kenyan reigned supreme, knocking out Mandonga in the sixth and 10th rounds. The tie was called in favour of Wanyonyi via a unanimous decision from the judges.
Speaking after the match, a graceful Mandonga accepted defeat but vowed to bounce back in subsequent fights.
"He was the better boxer tonight and congratulations to him for the well-deserved win. He, however, beat me via a unanimous decision, but I knocked him out in January. He will never knock me out," as captured by Nation Sports.
With the tie now evenly poised at one-all, the boxers have now encouraged promoters to organise a third face-off to determine who is the better boxer.
Mandonga's punches
The 39-year-old Mandonga has become famous for christening his punches before matches. In the January fight, he revealed that he had a special punch from Ukraine called "ngumi ya Sungunyo."
Speaking after arriving in the country on Wednesday, Sports Brief reported that Mandonga revealed plans to launch a new punch on Saturday, which he hilariously claimed was from Russia called "ngumi ya Kinguki."

FootballFloyd Mayweather tours Africa
Sports Brief has also reported that boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather, has embarked on an African tour, making stops in various cities across the continent.
The American icon's tour aims to promote local boxers under his brand, The Money Team. In the past few days, the former Light Middleweight champion made a notable visit to Zimbabwe, accompanied by his entire entourage.
However, it was Mayweather's extravagant visit to South Africa that captured everyone's attention, as he practically bought out the entire Gucci store during his time there.
