- AJ is preparing for his next fight on August 12, although his opponent has not been announced
Tyson Fury will never miss a chance to take a swipe at Anthony Joshua. He left a funny comment about the former heavyweight world champion’s training routine.
On Monday, Joshua posted footage of himself on social media using a mattress as a heavy bag - showing he's ready to get some training rounds in at any time.
When the video was published on Instagram, his competitor Fury quickly appeared to leave a remark with the statement, "Proper sausage", along with three sobbing laughter emojis.
Joshua and Fury have been known to be bitter rivals for years, but a fight between the pair never materialised. AJ then lost his belts to Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019.
The former WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF champion is set for a comeback bout on August 12th, before he progresses to a December showdown with Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia.
Fury to battle ex-UFC champion
Meanwhile, Tyson Fury is being strongly rumoured for a crossover exhibition fight with former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, Talk Sport reports.
Fury last entered the ring in April 2022 when he knocked out fellow British boxer, Dillian Whyte in round six of their thriller at Wembley Stadium.
Ngannou was stripped of the UFC heavyweight title when he left the promotion, so he is now a free agent and can fight whoever he wants.
Joshua sets sights on Fury
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Joshua and Fury had been in negotiations in the past for a big fight, but never faced off in the ring before.
Fans in the O2 Arena want to see the two Brits collide, though, and made their feelings known after AJ's bout against Jermaine Franklin.
Joshua won the fight by unanimous decision as the former WBO, WBA, IBO, and IBF champion controlled the fight well. He landed the more threatening shots, but Franklin refused to be knocked out.
