- Usyk reiterated that he isn't afraid of fighting Wilder and that there's only one person he is afraid of
Oleksandr Usyk has shut down reports that he fears taking on Deontay Wilder.
The IBF, WBA, and WBO Heavyweight champion revealed that he is only afraid of one person, and it wasn’t a man.
As noted by Marca, Usyk revealed that the only person he was afraid of was his wife.
"Please stop it. I respect this man, I treat him with honour. What is this talk about fear? The only thing I'm really afraid of is to get my wife frustrated," he said.
Wilder believes Usyk is afraid
Usyk had to clarify that he wasn’t afraid of facing The Bronze Bomber after the former champion accused him of ducking a fight.
As noted by The Mirror, Wilder said that the Ukrainian was afraid to fight him for the three titles. Wilder had only been defeated by Tyson Fury and is confident that he can hand Usyk his first professional loss.
"He’s not a little afraid, but a lot afraid. I’m in the business, so I know a lot of things. I’m ready to go at any given moment of time, place, no matter what it is. They know that,” he said.
Wilder added that he didn’t put in aggressive contract clauses like Tyson Fury did and wasn’t about over-pricing himself out of a fight.
Usyk no-showed Wilder’s last fight
Wilder last fought in October 2022 when he took on Sweden's Robert Helenius.

FootballWilder finished the fight in round one and expected Usyk to enter the ring to set up a potential fight between the two. Usyk, who was expected to be at the bout, didn’t show up for the event.
Usyk to defend against Dubois
Oleksandr Usyk is set to defend his WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight belts against Daniel Dubois in Poland, Sports Brief reported.
The Ukrainian's plan to take on Tyson Fury in an undisputed showdown initially collapsed.
Usyk has a 20-0 record since he turned professional, and his back-to-back wins over Anthony Joshua cemented his status as one of the best heavyweight boxers in the last few years.
