What is the Bridgerweight title?

As noted by DAZN, the Bridgerweight division is a new division created by the WBC. It has a 244-pound weight limit and is between the Cruiserweight and Heavyweight divisions.

It is seen as a Super Cruiserweight or second Heavyweight division, with many feeling that the likes of Deontay Wilder or Oleksandr Usyk could easily fight for the new title.

The WBC is the only major governing body to have started the new division, and there's yet to be a word as to whether the IBF, WBA, and WBO will do the same.

Lerena to fight Rozanski

Lerena will now be hoping to dethrone the current champion, Rozanski, and bring the title back to South Africa. The Polish boxer won the title when he beat Alen Babic for the then-vacant belt in the first round, Sky Sports reported.

Lerena, who previously challenged Daniel Dubois for the WBA Heavyweight belt, could find himself better suited to the new division after dominating in the Cruiserweights for so long.

Lerena fights for Heavyweight title

Sports Brief previously reported how Kevin '2 Guns' Lerena was looking to make heavyweight boxing history in London in December.

The South African boxer took on Britain’s Daniel Dubois for the WBA (Regular) World Heavyweight Title on December 3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The event was headlined by the WBC heavyweight title bout between Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora.
