As reported by Sky Sports, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed that The Bronze Bomber was arrested in the early hours of May 2 and released on bail approximately five hours later. Unconfirmed reports allege that Wilder was stopped during a routine traffic stop by police, who then found a gun in his vehicle. Wilder took to social media to address the rumours, posting a short tweet which neither confirmed or denied the reports.

Wilder's previous criminal charge

It's not the first time that the American has been in trouble with the law either. In 2018 he was arrested for being in possession of an illegal substance.

Wilder received a 30-day suspended sentence and two years of probation for that. He was also ordered to perform community service at a local YMCA.

Who next for Wilder?

Wilder has recently been in talks for a fight against Anthony Joshua. The duo were meant to fight each other when they were both champions, but it never materialised. Negotiations are now underway for a mega fight in December.

Wilder shows off explosive punches

Boxing fans have shown concern for Anthony Joshua after watching Deontay Wilder's most recent workout video.

Wilder, who has expressed a desire to take on AJ, is back in the gym getting ready for his next bout.

The Bronze Bomber has not boxed since knocking out Robert Helenius in round one in October 2022, Sports Brief reported.

Wilder tops WBC rankings
