The first round was more of a feeling-out process as both Garcia and Davis took a more cautious approach to the round. Garcia looked to use his reach advantage to land the jab, which proved to be the only significant shot of the first round.

Round 2

Many expected the second round to follow the first, but Garcia came out swinging and landed a few big shots on Davis. Tank was forced to hold onto his opponent early in the second and was warned by the referee. Garcia managed to cut off the ring but got overconfident and was dropped by an overhand left hook by Davis. It was only the second time in Garcia’s career that he was dropped.

Round 3

The third round saw Garcia take a more cautious approach, while Davis started to walk down KingRy. Tank was growing in confidence with each punch he landed. Garcia managed to throw a few jabs toward the end of the round, but it wasn’t enough to trouble Davis.

Round 4

The fourth round saw both boxers go to the body, looking to land punches and deal damage. Garcia had trouble landing his left hook, and Davis often punished him when he missed.

Round 5

The fifth round was another cagey affair from both fighters as they looked to gain points with their punches but didn’t land anything too vicious. Davis did manage to evade Garcia’s punches and counter with his own, though.

Round 6

Garcia came out fighting in the sixth as he landed three big shots before Davis was able to retaliate. The round saw the most action since the second, as both fighters opened up more.

Round 7

Garcia picked up the aggression in the seventh as he aimed to land a knockdown blow of his own. Garcia landed a big hook in the middle of the round and looked to be picking up steam before he was caught by a brutal body shot. The blow seemed to have more power behind it than many realised, as Garcia was dropped to his knee and couldn’t get back up.

Mayweather picks his winner

Floyd Money Mayweather has weighed in on who is going to win the fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia.

The highly anticipated 12-round lightweight contest sees two undefeated streaks on the line.

After plenty of back and forth, both Americans were looking to settle the score inside the ring at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Sports Brief previously reported.
