As reported by SkySports, the previously undefeated Joyce suffered a stoppage defeat at the hands of Zhang during their heavyweight clash. The loss has dented the young Brit's chances at fighting either Fury or Oleksandr Usyk for their heavyweight straps.
Usyk is the WBA, WBO and IBO Heavyweight champion, while Usyk is the WBC Heavyweight title holder.
Going into the bout, Joyce was confident that he would walk away with the victory, but the referee stopped the bout in the sixth round in favour of the Chinese star. Zhang's fearsome power was on full display as his shots caused severe swelling to Joyce's left eye.
With his power clearly a problem for fellow heavyweights, Zhang believes he can stop Fury next, Boxing News 24 reported.
"He doesn’t have that chin. He will go down," Zhang said while admitting that he was after a title next.
Zhang's victory over Joyce sees him extend his record to 25 wins, one loss and one draw. Zhang has won 20 of his 25 victories by knockout in his career.
