FootballDaniel Dubois’ Promoter Is Confident Dynamite Can Knock Out Oleksandr Usyk, Downplays Injury Concerns
- Daniel 'Dynamite' Dubois is one of the mandatory challengers for Oleksandr Usyk's belts
- Usyk and Tyson Fury were talking about a potential title unification bout but it fell through
- Frank Warren has provided an update on Dubois' injury ahead of a potential Usky bout
Oleksandr Usyk will face Daniel Dubois for his undisputed heavyweight titles in his next bout, provided that Dubois is medically cleared for the fight.
The Ukrainian boxer, who is the WBA, WBO and IBF Heavyweight Champion, was in negotiations to battle Tyson Fury to unify the titles but the fight fell through.
The WBA then ordered Usyk to defend his belts against Dubois, the WBA’s Regular Heavyweight Champion. They also asked the British fighter to produce a medical report to prove that he was injury-free.
There are doubts that Dubois will be medically cleared to take on the champion this year.

As noted by The Mirror, 'Dynamite' injured his knee during a title defence against South Africa’s Kevin Lerena. It was later reported that he suffered a torn ACL. Recovery from such an injury could see the boxer miss up to six months of in-ring action.
As noted by Boxing Social, Dubois’ promoter, Frank Warren assured Usyk’s camp that the Briton was fit enough to fight and would defeat the Ukrainian for the titles.
“He’s fully fit and healthy and will be fulfilling what the WBA have asked of him. I think he will catch Usyk and knock him out,” he said.
“When they come against Daniel, it means Usyk either loses his belt to Daniel in a fight, or he has to vacate it,” Warren added.
