Current WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury is one of the sporting icons who was also asked to pick between the two.

It's no surprise that Fury weighed in on the GOAT debate as he previously spoke about wanting to be as popular as either player, Bleacher Report noted.

In 2015, before a title fight against Wladimir Klitschko, Fury said that a win over the then-champion would help him on his quest to be a global phenomenon like Ronaldo and Messi.

Fury did win that fight and has since become a global phenomenon. The British boxer is undefeated in his career and well on his way to staking a claim as the greatest heavyweight of all time.

The Gypsy King is also looking to unify all the heavyweight titles and is in talks to fight Oleksandr Usyk for the other belts.
