FootballAnthony Joshua Warned That One Opponent Could End His Boxing Career
- Anthony Joshua is billed for a blockbuster return, but he has been warned against fighting Deontay Wilder
- Former British boxing champion David Price has suggested that the Bronze Bomber could end AJ’s career
- Both boxers have been linked with each other since 2015, but a fight looks likely in the Year 2023
A former British boxer David Price has warned Anthony Joshua that he could be ending his boxing career if he takes on Deontay Wilder.
AJ and the Bronze Bomber have been tipped to eventually take on each other as they continue to rebuild their respective careers back to the top.
The pair have been heavily linked to fighting each other since 2015 and 2016 when they were champions, but all efforts to get them in the ring are yet to come to fruition.
In October 2022, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn was said to have sent a big money offer to Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel for a bout with the boxer of Nigerian descent.

A response was delayed as Wilder prepared for his showdown against Robert Helenius, however, Finkel eventually confirmed readiness for AJ.
The bout will likely not be either man’s next fight as AJ is set for a rematch with Dillian Whyte in March or April, while Wilder has been touted to take on Andy Ruiz Jr in a WBC final eliminator.
And if that does happen, Price is unsure if Josuha would be capable of getting his hand raised and has pointed to a ‘terrible trait’ that he thinks separates both fighters.
Speaking to iD Boxing via Express, he said:
“I’d have to say Wilder. I just think he’s less emotionally damaged especially after his win over Robert Helenius, it was back to normal for him. Back to business whereas Joshua is more of a thinker and puts more pressure on himself to perform.”

FootballAJ set for blockbuster return
Sports Brief earlier reported that famous boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has once again reiterated that Anthony Joshua could take on the winner of Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz Jr for the WBC strap if it is vacated.
It was gathered that the current WBC title-holder Tyson Fury is already in negotiations to take on unified champion Oleksandr Usyk (WBA, WBO, IBF) for a possible unification bout this year.
All is set for a Wilder vs Ruiz Jr clash and Hearn believes AJ is primed to take on the winner of that bout if all goes according to plan, Express reports.
