Who is Azumah Nelson's wife?

According to sources, the boxer had two marriages. Beatrice, his first wife with whom he had three children, died of cancer.

He later married Peggy Nelson, with whom he has three children. There is no definitive source on Azumah Nelson's house, however it is assumed that he lives in Accra.

It was in the 1990s when he lost his first wife, Beatrice Tando, to cancer. He was preparing for a battle with Pennell "sweatpea" Whitaker in the days leading up to her death. His wife's worsening health exacerbated his devastating loss to the American boxer.

He won all four of his fights in 1983, and he opened 1984 with a decision victory over Hector Cortez on March 9 in Las Vegas. The following December, he became boxing royalty when he knocked out Wilfredo Gómez in round 11 to win the WBC featherweight championship. The star rebounded in the last round after falling on the three judges' scorecards to win the Puerto Rico title.

He began 1988 by defeating Mario Martinez in Los Angeles by split decision over 12 rounds to capture the vacant WBC super featherweight title. Unfortunately, Nelson was knocked out in the tenth round of their match, and the result was not favourably received.

To win the championship, he fought world champion Gabriel Ruelas in the fifth round on December 1, 1995. His first defence came almost a year later when he and Jesse James Leija fought for the third time.

He successfully defended his championship with a six-round knockout. He fought only once in 1996, as had become his usual pattern.

He lost the Lineal and WBC belts against Genaro Hernandez on points in twelve rounds in 1997. He held two world titles, the WBC featherweight belt from 1984 to 1987 and the WBC super-featherweight title twice between 1988 and 1997.
