40-year old boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao acquires college diploma

- Taking to social media, he urged people to never give up on their life aspirations

Star boxer Manny Pacquiao recently added another enviable title to his overall impressive CV as he acquired a college diploma from the University of Makati in the Philippines.

Pacquiao joined 400 other graduates in a massive ceremony on Wednesday, December 11, to mark his graduation.

The 40-year-old, renown for his humility despite his boxing success, has for the longest time been aspiring to attain a degree in political science.

Being a fairly new senator in the Philippines, bolstering his education credentials seemed like the next plausible thing to do in his career.

He issued an encouraging statement soon after his graduation, urging the public to never give up on their ambitions.

“It is never too late to dream bigger dreams. It is never too late to accomplish our dreams,” he said

He also revealed some of his motivations to pursue an education rather than completely focus on his boxing career was to act as an inspiration to people who look up to him.

"Let this victory outside the boxing ring serve as an inspiration for people who are struggling to fight, to rise above adversity, to conquer and to embrace life and all its difficulties,” he added.

Manny, according to reports, made a staggering KSh 50 billion (500 million dollars) throughout his boxing career.

There have also been rumors that another mega-money rematch with arch rival Floyd Mayweather was on the horizon after Mayweather hinted at coming out of retirement in 2020.
