Wladimir Klitschko who is a former boxing champion has called for truce between his nation, Ukraine, and Russia as melee between these two European nations is causing tension.

People of Ukraine are currently in serious tension mood following the order given by Russian president Vladimir Putin who ordered for attacks to be launched.

Vladimir Putin is said to have declared war on Ukraine telling his troops to engage in total full-scale invasion even though the United Nations are said to have appealed to the 69-year-old.

Putin is also said to have warned that there will be severe consequences for any nation that would perhaps try to stop his troops from operating in Russia.

According to the message posted on his official Twitter page, Wladimir Klitschko warned that Russia should not allow history to repeat itself.

Who is Wladimir Klitschko?

Wladimir Klitschko is a Ukrainian former professional boxer who competed from 1996 to 2017.

He held the world heavyweight championship twice, including the unified WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, and Ring magazine titles.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Phila Mpontshane and Sibusiso Zingange will headline ESPN Africa Boxing 14.

Mpontshane will defend his South African Junior Lightweight title at the event, for the fifth time only.

ESPN Africa Boxing is a monthly boxing event that showcases the best boxers on the continent. ESPN Africa reported.

ESPN Africa Boxing 14 will take place at the EFC Performance Institute in Fourways, Johannesburg, and will feature seven fights on the card. 2022 saw the return of the event which will be held on the last Thursday of every month.

February’s event will see two title fights thrill audiences. In the co-main event, South Africa’s Smangele Hadebe will face Tanzania’s Halima Vunjabei.
