Eliud Kipchoge rewarded KSh 4.1 million Isuzu car for INEOS feat

- Isuzu East Africa had promised to reward Kipchoge with a brand new car if he broke the two-hour marathon barrier

- The marathoner took the INEOS 1:59 challenge and covered 42km in under two hours

- The father of three is the Isuzu D-Max brand ambassador and was previously gifted with same car in 2018

Marathoner Eliud Kipchoge has received a brand new Isuzu D-Max single cab pick-up valued at KSh 4.1 million for covering 42km in under two hours during the INEOS 1:59 challenge.

The four times winner of London marathon was presented with the gift at the Karura forest by officials from Isuzu East Africa led by chairperson Eisaku Akazawa and Managing Director Rita Kavashe.

The motor vehicle manufacturer had promised to reward him with the car if he managed to break the two-hour marathon barrier, which he effortlessly did.

During the November 16 handover event, the 35-year-old led a fun race and a tree planting exercise with other participants.

Kipchoge is Isuzu D-Max brand ambassador and was previously gifted with the car as a reward for breaking the marathon record on September 2018 in Berlin.

Kavashe used the opportunity to laud the runner for his record breaking exploits.

“Eliud has been our brand ambassador and we have traveled a long journey with him. We decided to support Eliud because we saw we could give him an opportunity to win. In our organization we do not believe in limitations,” she noted.
