Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has ramped up preparations for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Fraser-Pryce shared a video of her hitting the gym just before the Christmas break as she aims to get back in shape ahead of next season.

The Jamaican only ran a few races this year after a knee injury put her down. She was supposed to open her season at the Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi in May but withdrew on the morning of the meet.

Fraser-Pryce's 2023 season

She stayed out of running, only making a return at the Switzerland and Spain Gold Tour meetings a month before the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. The 36-year-old opted to pull out of the 200m and focus on her favourite discipline - the 100m.

Fraser-Pryce failed in her pursuit to claim a record-extending sixth 100m world title when Sha'Carri Richardson surprised her and her compatriot Shericka Jackson in the final. She was forced to settle for bronze.

She picked up another injury during the 4 by 100m relay final but soldered on to pass the baton. Jamaica won silver behind a Richardson-powered USA.

The mother of one has since recovered from the injury as she looks to start her 2024 season on a high note. In the video shared on her Instagram account, she is seen lifting weights and doing pull-ups before her son, Zyon, engages her in some sort of dance.

The third-fastest woman of all time has shown no signs of slowing down. In Paris, she will be going for a third gold medal in the 100m after previous triumphs in Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

Fraser-Pryce retirement plans

Sports Brief earlier reported on Fraser-Pryce setting the record straight on her future.

She confirmed that the 2024 Paris Olympics will be her last. The veteran sprinter recently claimed silver and bronze at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest in August.

"I got Paris on my mind…..My 5th and final one for all time," she said.
