At the end of the 2023 World Athletics Awards night in Monaco on December 11, a deflated-looking Noah Lyles addressed a group of journalists.

Like the rest of the world, Lyles had been taken aback by the decision to subdivide the main awards into three.

After a dominant season that saw him win three gold medals, the American was adjudged to have been the best male athlete for track events - but it could have been more.

Despite the disappointment in the World Athletics for lack of prior communication, Lyles looked sharp. The 26-year-old has been a strong advocate for infusing fashion and showbiz into track and field events.

And boy has he walked the talk.

Lyles turns heads with fashion choices

From ruffling NBA players with the world champions remark to stepping out on the red carpet events, the three-time 200m world champion has been keen on bringing life to the game.

"Obviously, it's not happening because we aren't doing it. But why aren't we doing it," he posed during the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston on February 4, as quoted by the New York Times.

At that time, he arrived dressed in a black outfit, complete with a rolling bag. Later in the year, he wore a green sweater with windowlike holes with 'Who Decides War' trousers at the New York Grand Prix.

He got the reception he wanted in New York despite his fellow athletes failing to show up alongside him. He has made further appearances at the Milan Fashion Week, Met Gala and modelled for Hugo Broos.

"Personally, I'm just having fun. I like to bring my hobbies in other things and I also feel like there is a place in the sport where we can keep growing."

In Monaco on Monday night, he looked sharp in a white suit with a bowtie to match alongside his girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield.

It will be interesting to see what more he can come up with as we get into an Olympic year.

Lyles, Shericka Jackson team up for holiday

Sports Brief has previously reported that Lyles and Shericka Jackson teamed up in Jamaica, where they enjoyed their post-season holidays.

Lyles, alongside his Jamaican girlfriend Junelle Bromfield, was seen sharing pictures and videos of their holiday with Jackson on Instagram.
