Eliud Kipchoge made a slight tweak to his Instagram bio hours after Kelvin Kiptum set a new world record in the men's marathon.
Kiptum defied the odds to run a perfect race at the Chicago Marathon on October 8, clocking a time of 2:00:35 - the fastest time ever in men's marathon.
The 23-year-old, who was only running his third senior marathon, now has three of the six fastest times in history.
He first won the Valencia Marathon in December last year before coming close to breaking Kipchoge's marathon at the TCS London Marathon in April.

FootballKiptum's new time was just 35 seconds past, becoming the first man to run a legal race under two hours and 34 seconds off Kipchoge's time of 2:01:09.
Before the Chicago Marathon, Kipchoge's bio previously read '1:59:40 | 2:01:09 WR| 2x Olympic Champion...' but a quick check shows it has since been altered to '1:59:40 | 2x Olympic Champion.'
His Twitter bio remains the same, though the initials WR are not indicated in front of 2:01:09.
The 1:59:40 indicated therein is when the 38-year-old became the first person to run a marathon under two hours, albeit under special conditions, in Vienna, Austria, in 2019.
While he is not obligated to send his public congratulatory message to Kiptum, netizens have taken issue with the silence of the two-time Olympic champion.

"I haven't seen a tweet from Eliud Kipchoge congratulating Kiptum for smashing the world record set by Kipchoge himself. What could be wrong with Kipchoge, who keeps bombarding us with motivational quotes on how you must stretch the limits? Kiptum did stretch those limits, right?"

"24 hours later, the former record holder Eliud Kipchoge has not yet congratulated Kelvin Kiptum for breaking the Marathon World Record!"
In spite of all the back and forth on social media, it is important to note that Kipchoge previously backed Kiptum to go a step further than what he (Kipchoge) had achieved in the marathon.
The five-time Berlin marathon champion spoke after Kiptum had won in London, saying that his junior could become the first person to run a marathon under two hours (in legal conditions).
"I always say records are meant to be broken and I hope Kiptum does that soon. He is a man with a big heart," said Kipchoge at that time, as Sports Brief reported.
