American superstar, Noah Lyles was unable to end the season on a high after losing in the finals of the Diamond League to an unexpected rival.

The US sprinter came second to his compatriot, Christian Coleman with Africa's fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala claiming third position overall.

Despite being on the losing side at the Prefontaine Classic this year, Lyles was motivated and cheered on by his Jamaican girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield, according to Essentially Sports.

Bromfield, who is an athlete herself, posted about Lyles' wins on her social media accounts and also hinted she has something exciting planned to cheer him up after his Diamond League disappointment.

The Jamaican uploaded a cute story on Instagram after the American failed to secure the 200m title, which was won by Canada's Andre De Grasse.

"Time to have some fun," she said, hinting at some relaxation after a gruelling season.

This was followed by Lyles' own post on Instagram where he announced the season was wrapped up, including a photo of himself sipping a beverage.

Lyles will now have plenty of time to rest with his girlfriend after a successful season which also saw him break records and claim gold, truly setting himself a step ahead.

Lyles and his girlfriend take private jet

Sports Brief previously reported on Lyles sharing a video of himself and his girlfriend, Jamaican sprinter Bromfield, taking a private jet ride in Zurich, Switzerland.

In the clip, the American superstar was seen walking towards the plane while holding hands with Bromfield. He wore a leather jacket with the words '3-peat'.

This was seen to signify the three gold medals Lyles won at the recently concluded 2023 World Athletics Championships held in Budapest, Hungary.
