Noah Lyles and Jose Mourinho shared one of the most unexpected crossovers when they linked up in a forum organised by apparel company Adidas.

Lyles has been the talk of the town in recent days after he won three gold medals at the World Athletics Championships staged in Budapest, Hungary, in late August.

The American clocked 9.83 seconds to win the 100m, and 19.52 seconds in the 200m before anchoring Team USA to gold in the 4 by 100m relay finals.

He then followed it up by 'attacking' America's top basketball league, the NBA, for referring to themselves as the World Champions. The comments caused a stir on social media, with top players like Kevin Durant calling him out.

Mourinho meets Lyles

Through an Instagram post, Mourinho was grateful for the opportunity to be involved in the summit, with one slide showing his achievements over the years. The AS Roma boss then joked about getting back to camp to work with just seven players, with many of his stars away for international duty.

The Portuguese coach also met with the captain of the Spanish Women's national football team, Olga Carmona, who lifted the World Cup trophy last month, but the win has been marred by the unfortunate Luis Rubiales kiss, as reported by BBC Sport.

He will be hoping to rediscover his touch when the Serie A returns in two weeks' time. The Giallarosi are yet to win a single game this season and sit in the relegation places.
