Just like in the 100-metre final, the USA and Jamaica will lock horns in the highly anticipated 200m final set for Friday, August 25, at the ongoing World Athletics Championships.
World champion, Shericka Jackson, comfortably won her heat in the semis to seal a spot in the final. The Jamaican will be looking to defend the title she won in Oregon last year.
Newly crowned 100m world champion, Sha'Carri Richardson, was second in Heat 3, which Jackson won.
Gabby Thomas, considered a dark horse, won Heat 1 and will be looking to team up with Richardson to take down the Jamaican, who is the favourite to take gold.
Great Britain's Daryll Neita and Dina Asher-Smith will also be in the final. St. Lucia's Julein Alfred, who finished fifth in the 100m final, is also through to the final, per World Athletics.
Richardson narrowly beat Jackson to win gold in the 100m final on August 21.
Richardson, Jackson - who's the favourite?
Jackson is the second-fastest woman in the 200m and the fastest woman alive over that distance. In last year's World Athletics Championships, she clocked 21.45 seconds - only 0.11 seconds slower than the fastest in history, per Olympics.
The Jamaican registered her fastest time this season (21.71) on the same day that Thomas ran 21.60 seconds. The two faced off at the Monaco Diamond League and Jackson won while Thomas finished seventh.
Richardson ran her personal best of 21.94 at the US Championships, which Thomas won. Therefore, Jackson's experience could play a major role in the final.

Richardson wins women's 100m
Sports Brief earlier reported on American Richardson stunning Jamaican stars to win the women's 100m title in Budapest.
She clocked a championship record of 10.65 seconds, denying defending champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Jackson.
It was also the first women's 100-metre world championship victory by an American athlete since 2017 when Tori Bowie won.
