The South African athlete has made it to the semi-finals of the event at the World Athletics Championships.
Sekgodiso competed in the first heat of the 800m and booked her place in Friday’s semis, by finishing second in the race.
The South African finished in a time of 1:59:53, behind Keely Hodgkinson from Great Britain.
The top three in each heat automatically qualified for the semi-finals, while the three fastest non-automatic qualifiers also earned a spot.

As noted by Times LIVE, she qualified for the WAC by winning the 800m event at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland, finishing in a time of 1min 58.87sec.
Sekgodiso is one of South Africa’s current hopes for a medal in Hungary.
The country are yet to win a medal at the Championships, but also have Wayde van Niekerk in a final and Marione Fourier in a semi-final.
Marione Fourie is one step closer to qualifying for the Women’s 100m Hurdles final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
The South African was one of two athletes from the country competing in the heats for the event on Day 4 of the Championships.
Fourie booked her place in the semi-final after she finished third in heat two, finishing in a time of 12.71, Sports Brief reported.

Van Niekerk finished third in the heat in a time of 44.65 and had to wait for the other two heats to conclude to see if he made it to the finals, Sports Brief reported.
