This win marks the second time this season that the 23-year-old has prevailed over Shericka, who clocked in at 10.78 seconds. Adding to her impressive record, Sha'Carri maintains an undefeated streak in 2023, per World Athletics.

How Sha'Carri toppled Shericka?

The women's 100m event at Silesia, Poland, showcased a remarkable display of athleticism, with Sha'Carri Richardson narrowly outshining her Jamaican rival, Shericka Jackson.

The race unfolded with the local favourite, Ewa Swoboda, making her customary explosive start.

However, it was Jackson who smoothly surpassed Swoboda at the halfway mark, positioning herself for a potential victory.

Nevertheless, Richardson, representing the United States, maintained her composure and exhibited exceptional strength in the final stretch, ultimately overtaking her opponents just meters before the finish line.

With a time of 10.76 seconds, Richardson emerged as the triumphant winner.

Jackson claimed a well-deserved second place, recording a time of 10.78 seconds, while Swoboda thrilled the home crowd by breaking the 11-second barrier for the first time with a time of 10.94 seconds, according to the Olympics.

Sha'Carri makes interesting wig revelation

In a previous publication, Sports Brief reported that Sha'Carri Richardson gained attention last Friday, not only for winning the 100m race but also for another eye-catching action.

The American sprint star said goodbye to her recognisable orange wig after her introduction on the starting line at the track during the US Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

According to Richardson, she had a special intention behind her startling gesture.

Richardson clocks new record

In characteristic fashion, Sha'Carri Richardson's renaissance continued with another blistering run on the opening day of the United States Track and Field Championships, Sports Brief reported earlier.

Her time in Oregon is now the World Lead in the women's 100m, smashing Marie Jose Ta Lou's record of 10.75 seconds set in the Diamond League.
