- It was the first Diamond League win for the Botswana sprinter

Botswana sprinter Letsile Tebogo comfortably cruised to his first-ever Diamon League win after storming to victory in the 200m race in Lausanne.
2022 World U20 Championships silver medallist clocked 20.01 to beat 200m Olympic champion Andre De Grasse who finished a dismal sixth.
Trinidad and Tobago’s Jereem Richards (20.11) finished second, while Liberia's Joseph Fahnbulleh (20.21) came in third.
Despite starting strongly, Canada's Aaron Brown faded and finished fifth. Cuba's Reynier Mena finished 5th. With World Champion Noah Lyles absent, it was a chance for Tebogo and De Grasse to take advantage.
Tebogo and Mena were the only two athletes on the field to run under 20 seconds this season.
What Tebogo said
The young sprinter said he is trusting the process.
"It felt great tonight. You have to trust the process and then everything will fall into place just as it's supposed to be. This was my second time here in Lausanne, there is really a special feel. The crowd is unbelieveable. Last year I was third, so I performed much better this year," via Olympics.
De Grasse finding rhythm
The Canadian sprinter has struggled with injury the last few months and said he will run in the 100m race at the Stockholm Diamond League meet in Sweden.
“I am feeling confident,” says De Grasse. “I’m not expecting to have the result I had in 2017, but I want to put together a sub-10-second performance Sunday," via Canadian Running.
De Grasse is yet to run a sub-10-second time in the 100m or a 20.20-second time in the 200m in seven races this season.
