An impressive athlete, Mary John-Osazuwa, has won three gold medals at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Delta State.
History was made in Asaba, the state capital, when the married woman with three children won three gold medals for Team Lagos.
It was gathered that Osazuwa was very clinical and too strong for other contenders in the 81kg category of Women's Weightlifting.
Totori News reports that she almost quit the sport after she faced some challenges, but got great support from family members.

FootballNigerian journalist Queen John, in her tweet, disclosed that the athlete had determined to win laurels in the sport.
Queen John tweeted:
“Today is a very good day. My sister who represented the Lagos State Sports Commission in weightlifting won 3 Gold this evening.
“Omo!!omo!! it’s been long time coming. She has loved this sport since we were young despite the challenges, almost quitting, married with 3 kids, came back to win 3 gold.”
Meanwhile, tragedy struck at the National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State, after a boxer died on Tuesday, December 6.
Chukwuemeka Igboanugo lost his life during the event, and a coach has fingered medical personnel over failure to save the victim.
It was gathered that Imo State athlete Igboanugo incurred multiple punches in the chin from Anambra’s Gaby Amagor in their 86kg category bout before he passed out.

Reports claim three people died in the incident, sparking panic ahead of the National Sports Festival later this month.
Although the cause of the collapse is yet to be ascertained, it would likely be connected to the rush of construction to meet the deadline of the project.
