- 100 metres African champion Ferdinand Omanyala met with Eliud Kipchoge after a brilliant season
- Omanyala won the Africa and Commonwealth crowns, while Kipchoge broke his own world record
- The sprint star also met double world and Olympic 1500 metres champion Faith Kipyegon
Kenyan sprinting sensation Ferdinand Omanyala has heaped praise on Eliud Kipcoge after the two stars met in Eldoret town.
Omanyala and Kipchoge have flown the country's flag high in big sporting events after another record-breaking year.
Omanyala beat a star-studded field at the Kasarani Stadium in May to win the Kipkeino Classic. He then dethroned Akani Simbine to become the 100 metres African Champion in July in Mauritius. In August, he beat Simbine once again to become the Commonwealth Champion in Birmingham.
Kipchoge meanwhile broke his own world record at the Berlin Marathon after running a time of 2:01.39.

The two stars met in Eldoret as they reflected on the season that was. Omanyala, who is also Africa's fastest man, took to his Instagram account and said:
"We always celebrate other people's success so long as we had the opportunity to meet that success ourselves. I had a chat with Eliud Kipchoge today and he was very kind to me. I learned alot on what it takes to be a G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Times)"
Omanyala had also earlier met 1500 metres world champion Faith Kipyegon. Kipyegon also had a trendsetting season and came agonizingly close to breaking the 1500 metres world record.
"I had the pleasure of visiting Faith Kipyegon. So much wisdom."
