A clip showing the moment Tobi Amusan received a national award from President Muhammadu Buhari has gone viral on the internet.
On September 15, all members of Team Nigeria to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham were rewarded with varying national awards.
The president, who expressed delight over their performances at the Games, described the athletes as champions, worthy ambassadors, and national heroes and heroines.
He conferred Members of the Order of the Niger (MON) national awards on them, while Tobi Amusan was specially recognised as the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

On October 11, President Buhari conferred national awards on 447 recipients, bringing the total number of Nigeria’s national honours awardees to 5 341 since 1963, Vanguard reports.
However, there was drama during the ceremony as some of the recipients, including music artists, dressed in all manner of outfits and left many tongues wagging.
Many have blasted some award recipients for 'disrespecting the Office of the President of the Federal Republic', while using Tobi Amusan as a case study of how to behave during such a historic moment.
A video shows how Amusan clad in a simple but elegant outfit as she walked up to the president before receiving the award.
While the audience clapped, the 25-year-old athlete shook hands with President Buhari as they posed for the camera, before she greeted him once again and left.

Amusan nominated for international award
Sports Brief earlier reported that Tobi Amusan has reacted to her nomination for the World Athlete of the Year Award.
Amusan, who is having a sensational season, stunned the sporting world during the World Athletics Championships when she ran 12:12s in the semi-final of the women’s hurdles.
The 25-year-old is now the world record holder, after setting another record at the Commonwealth Games in the final, where she won gold with a time of 12.20s.
