An 8-year-old girl Adeela Adedeji has expressed disappointment after representing Kwara state at the Africa Gymnastics Clubs Championships in Pretoria, South Africa.
Footage has gone viral showing the moment Adeela claimed that she was not congratulated by the state government for her performance despite winning a silver medal.
It was gathered that the badminton youngster has won quite a number of laurels for Kwara State, along with Feranmi Adekunle Aguda.
Adeela emerged second at the Africa Gymnastics championships and took time to apologise to her state government for not winning the gold medal.

She said via Arise TV:
"First of all, I’d like to apologise to my state government in Kwara for winning a silver medal. Stephanie’s government congratulated her, but my government did not congratulate me.”
However, according to a Nigerian outlet, Leadership, the governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, congratulated the duo of badminton stars, Feranmi Adekunle Aguda and eight-year-old athlete Adeela Adedeji.
The governor said in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye:
“All of us in Kwara are proud of Feranmi and of the little Adeela for the honour they have brought to the state. They are our superstars!
“We celebrate them and certainly look forward to seeing them always reaching for the stars and breaking all the glass ceilings in the future,” the Governor said in a statement in honour of the little girl.
