Kaizer Chiefs might as well still look the way of Benni McCarthy to solve their coaching conundrum, as his future at Manchester United seems uncertain.

The South African club have continued to make the headlines as they search for a new head coach who could help them reclaim their lost glory.

The Amakhosi last won a major trophy in 2014, firing Molefi Ntseki after just 13 games of the 2023/2024 season.

What Benni McCarthy said about coaching Kazier Chiefs

McCarthy recently stated that he would consider taking over the Glamour Boys hot seat, calling the club an 'institution'. He said, as per Far Post:

"I think we can safely say that Kaizer Chiefs is an institution, listen, it’s a great club that I always had a lot of love for. If the opportunity comes or anything, of course, I’ll have to sit down and think about it because, like I said, you don’t say no to institutions."

Kaizer Chiefs might have received a shot in the arm after Fabrizio Romano reported that Man United were looking to bring in Ruud van Nistelrooy to be a part of Erik ten Hag's coaching staff form next season.

After choosing to retain ten Hag as manager for the next season, the Sir Jim Ratcliffe-led club is looking to restructure to compete for more silverware next season.

How Benni McCarthy could still join Kaizer Chiefs

It is not yet known what position Nistelrooy will take at Old Trafford if he accepts the job, but given that he was a former striker, the news could spell doom for McCarthy.

The Bafana Bafana legend is yet to get a new contract with his three-year deal set to expire this summer.

He has been in charge of working with the club's forwards. McCarthy is widely credited with Marcus Rashford's form post-World Cup 2022.

Should Nistelrooy take over from McCarthy, Kaizer Chiefs might be tempted to bring the 46-year-old back home. However, the deal is far from over, as Burnley have also reportedly approached the Dutch icon with the head coach role on offer.

Kaizer Chiefs told to pick Mosimane over Nabi

Sports Brief also previously reported that Kaizer Chiefs were urged to hire Pitso Mosimane instead of Nasreddine Nabi.

The Tunisian has been linked with the PSL job for a few weeks, but former Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral does not agree.

He argued that Mosimane already knows the South African League better than Nabi, who is currently working in Morocco.
