Bongani Zungu’s second spell at Mamelodi Sundowns has officially come to an end.
The 31-year-old returned to the club in 2022 from Amiens in France but will depart after just two seasons.
As noted by IOL, Zungu announced over social media that he would be leaving the DStv Premiership champions.
The decision came as a surprise to many, as Zungu is seen as an experienced member of the squad. In his farewell post, he described the club as a family, saying that it was with a heavy heart that he was announcing his departure.

What's next for Zungu?
While he's yet to announce where he plans to go next, reports indicate that he could be heading to the Middle East.
Soccer Laduma noted that they were led to believe that the midfielder would be heading off to Saudi Arabia.
No teams in the wealthy nation have yet been credited as being interested in him, but the Saudi Pro League have already attracted many African stars.
Zungu has plenty of experience playing abroad, having competed in France, Portugal and Scotland already.
