Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, is reportedly attracting interest from Saudi Pro League and Russian Premier League clubs, as he is currently unattached.

Finidi George did not call up the former Kano Pillars forward for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and the Benin Republic.

The former Al Nassr star terminated his contract with Sivasspor after the Turkish Super Lig side failed to pay his wages.

According to a report by All Nigeria Soccer, Musa is linked with an unnamed club in the Saudi League and the Russian league ahead of a possible move this summer.

The former Leicester City forward has experience playing in the Saudi League, having played for Al Nassr for three years. He won the Saudi Pro League with the Knights of Najd in the 2018-19 season and the Saudi Super Cup in 2019.

Likewise, in the Russian Premier League, he had his best spell in European football while playing for CSKA Moscow. With the club, he won the league title and the domestic cup.

The AFCON winner scored 61 goals and provided 32 assists in 182 appearances for the Russian giants.

Musa voices expectations against Bafana and Benin

Sports Brief earlier reported on Musa voicing his opinion on what is expected from the Super Eagles team in their World Cup qualifying games against South Africa and the Benin Republic.

The games are undoubtedly make-or-break fixtures for the Super Eagles, given their poor start to the qualification campaign. Some of the players who featured at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast will miss out due to injuries.

However, not to be deterred by the flurry of injuries faced by Finidi George's side, the captain of the team has stressed his desire for the games against Bafana Bafana and the Cheetahs.
