Kaizer Chiefs defender, Luke Fleurs, has tragically passed away after being gunned down in a reported hijacking incident in Johannesburg.
The 24-year-old, who joined Chiefs in October from SuperSport United, was yet to make his debut for the PSL giants at the time of his passing.
According to iDiski Times, a family member of the 24-year-old confirmed Fleurs was shot and killed during a hijacking incident.
Kaizer Chiefs is expected to release a statement in due course, but news of the defender's untimely demise is already spreading.
