Ghana loses Mainoo to England

Meanwhile, Manchester United's 18-year-old midfielder, Kobbie Mainoo, has been handed his first senior England call-up by manager Gareth Southgate, Sky Sports reports.

The Red Devils youngster was part of England’s Under-21 squad but has been drafted into the main Three Lions squad for the March friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.

Mainoo was eligible to play for Ghana as his father hails from the West African nation but his England capping means he will no longer be able to represent the Black Stars.

Arsenal’s youngster wants Super Eagles

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Arsenal's rising talent, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, has confirmed his eligibility to officially represent Nigeria at the international level.

Born and bred in England, Butler-Oyedeji boasts a rich heritage that extends to the shores of the West African nation through his father and to Saint Vincent via his mom.
