Former Mamelodi Sundowns manager, Pitso Mosimane is keen on coaching the Super Eagles of Nigeria amid reports linking him with Kaizer Chiefs.

The South African tactician is in search of a new coaching job after parting ways with UAE Pro League side, Al Wahda last month.

Since leaving the Middle Eastern nation, the 59-year-old has been linked with different teams, with the Premier Soccer League side being top of the list.

The AmaKhosi are without a permanent coach after parting ways with Molefi Ntseki and appointing Cavin Johnson on an interim basis.

Despite being linked with many posts, Mosimane is keen on coaching the three-time African champions, according to KickOff Magazine, per Daily Post.

"The Nigeria job is one I would consider, but it would also depend on whether they want the team to be led by an African. Because the only African coach they had was Stephen Keshi," the former Al-Ahly coach said.

The former SuperSport United coach said while the Nigerian national team is full of top talents, this was not enough to win games, using this to show the importance of a manager.

"[Nigeria] have a lot of talent like Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen. But talent alone is not enough, because if it were only about talent, they would have beaten Lesotho 7-0, but they drew with them. And pound for pound, they would have also beaten Zimbabwe," Mosimane added.

The Portuguese manager has been under intense criticism after the Nigerian team drew their first two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
