Nigerian internationals, Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala made their country proud as they respectively claimed the men's and women's 2023 CAF Player of the Year awards.

The Napoli striker won the men's category ahead of Liverpool's Egyptian ace, Mohamed Salah and Paris Saint-Germain's Moroccan star, Achraf Hakimi.

The Barcelona Fememi star, on the other hand, won the women's category ahead of South Africa's Thembi Kgatlana and Zambia's Barbara Banda.

South Africa international, Percy Tau was also among the big winners on the night as he claimed the CAF Interclub Player of the Year (men's category), according to iDiskiTimes.

Fatima Tagnaout of Morocco won the women's award in the same category for her efforts with AS FAR.
