United, Newcastle cement top-four bid

Elsewhere, Manchester United and Newcastle won their respective fixtures to cement their bid to finish in the top four.

The Magpies remain third in the standings with 56 points after demolishing West Ham 5-1, while United occupy fourth place with the same number of points following their 2-0 win over Everton.

Tottenham Hotspur are placed fifth with 54 points, while Aston Villa and Brighton sit sixth and seventh, respectively.

Liverpool and Chelsea remain in the middle of the table after an underwhelming campaign, with both teams facing the prospect of missing out on a top-four finish.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, and Southampton are all in the relegation zone, having dropped points this weekend.

Rooney backs Arsenal for glory

Sports Brief also reported on Wayne Rooney making his prediction for this season's title race as Arsenal and Man City go head-to-head.

The England and Man United legend has backed the Gunners to lift the Premier League title this season over the second-placed Citizens.

According to the former striker, Rooney cannot see the north Londoners collapsing despite pressure from Pep Guardiola's side.
