The Catalan club have struggled in recent seasons to balance its books and not fall foul of La Liga's Financial Fair Play rules, and the 2023/24 season will be no different.

A super economic lever

Barcelona managed to bring players like Jules Kounde, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski to the club last season through the use of economic levers. One of the ways that the club generated funds was by selling future percentages of television rights.

While that's no longer an option, Barcelona have other tricks up its sleeve. As noted by Forbes, the Catalan giants could raise the funds by selling 49% of Barca Licensing & Merchandising (BLM).

Last summer there were reports that a consortium was interested in acquiring BLM, but nothing came to pass.

A percentage in the museum

Football Espana reports that Barca could also look at selling a percentage of their museum. The club's museum is one of the most visited museums in the world and averages around 1.5 million visitors per year.

It is a major source of income for the club and selling a percentage of that could be of great financial benefit.

Winning the league

Barcelona have a nine-point lead over Real Madrid and are strong favourites to win the league this season. As noted by Inside Sport, Barca could earn as much as €61.3 million just from winning the league.

Selling some of their players

Despite leading the league by nine points and boasting the best defensive record in Europe’s top five leagues, Barca could resort to selling some of their superstars to generate funds.

Players like Franck Kessie, Ansu Fati, Frenkie de Jong and even Raphinha have been at one stage or the other linked with a move away.
