Metro UK reports that Jesus' injury came at a time he had hit the ground running at the Emirates Stadium following his sensational summer transfer from Man City.

The 25-year-old had distinguished himself as a key squad member in Arsenal's Premier League title charge, having scored five Premier League goals before his injury setback.

However, it seems the striker's journey to recovery is progressing well after he posted a positive update on Wednesday morning, January 11.

The Brazil international shared an image of himself working out on an exercise bike with the caption: "Five weeks."

What was outstanding from the photo is that the star forward was not wearing the knee brace which has been part of his rehabilitation.

When will Jesus return?

While there is no definite time on when the former Man City ace will return to action, many Arsenal fans would hope that the 'five weeks' update would signify the time left before his comeback.

Back in December, Mikel Arteta was hesitant to put a timescale on the forward's return while addressing the issue.

However, it is anticipated that Jesus could be sidelined until March, with Eddie Nketiah filling the void left by his teammate.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will be back in action on Sunday, January 15, when they take on rivals Tottenham in the North London derby.

Arteta provides Saka injury update

Sports Brief also reported on Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta providing an update on Saka, after the youngster left the field injured during their FA Cup tie with Oxford.

The injury comes at a bad time for the Premier League leaders, who face a tough series of matches including versus Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Manchester United.

However, the Gunners boss has allayed fears regarding Saka, revealing the youngster could be available as soon as this weekend.
