  • AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has blasted Cristiano Ronaldo and Erik ten Hag
  • Ronaldo and ten Hag reached a point of no return after the former's interview remarks
  • Manchester United has since terminated the veteran striker's contract by mutual consent

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has now come out to admonish both Cristiano Ronaldo and Erik ten Hag after their bitter fallout last month.

Ronaldo and ten Hag were on different pages since the latter's appointment. Their differences culminated in the veteran striker undertaking an explosive interview with Piers Morgan to give his side of the story.

Among other things, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner claimed he did not respect the former Ajax manager, Goal reports.

Manchester United responded swiftly by terminating the striker's contract, while ten Hag fired back by claiming the club had already moved on.

Ibrahimovic on Ronaldo's saga

Ibrahimovic has now suggested that both parties are being economical with what really happened between them.

The veteran striker has claimed fans would never know what happened as both the player and the manager were trying to protect themselves.

"They say what they want to say, he says what he needs to say to protect himself, then you have the coach that says these things to protect himself," Ibra said as quoted by Daily Mail.

The truth of the matter

The bullish striker, who was at one time on Manchester United's roster, added that if it were him in that situation, he could have revealed everything as it happened.

"Then the club says things - not like me, I will tell you how it really happened. But we are all different. Everybody is careful about their image. For me, the perfect image is being yourself. The true story we will not know, my friend."

Ronaldo is set to look for a new club following Portugal's elimination from the World Cup. It is believed that he would still like to play at the top level.

Ten Hag speaks out

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Manchester United boss ten Hag opened up for the first time since Ronaldo’s dramatic exit from the club.

In November, the superstar severed ties with the club after an explosive interview with Piers Morgan where he called out several stakeholders at Old Trafford.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner sensationally claimed ten Hag had disrespected him and as such, he did not respect the Dutch coach.
