Mbappe ready to face FIFA punishment

Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe has declared his intention to pay any fines that the France Football Federation may incur in response to his unwillingness to participate in media duties in Qatar, Football London reports.

The 23-year-old France forward has twice refused to take part in post-game press conferences after collecting the man of the match award.

Mbappe will hope the issue with football’s governing body is resolved before France will meet England in the World Cup quarter-final on Saturday night.

Mbappe bypasses Brazil idol Pele

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Kylian Mbappe's goal-scoring heroics against Poland etched his name in the sands of time at the World Cup.

Mbappe, who has been in red-hot form at the 2022 World Cup, led France to the quarter-finals with a brace in Les Bleus' 3-1 win over their European counterparts on Sunday, December 4.

Mbappe became the youngest player to reach five knockout stage goals at the World Cup since Pelé in 1958, following his brace against Poland.
