Despite initially getting named into France's World Cup squad, the experienced striker was forced to pull out with a thigh injury.
Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpempe is the other starman ruled out of the competition with an injury.
However, the team's head coach Deschamps is confident his side will cope despite being hit by the string of injuries.
According to the French tactician, his team has all it takes to compete favourably in the ongoing tournament.
"We have what we need. We have enough players who are able to stimulate, get others going, talk in the dressing rooms, on the pitch, on the sidelines," Deschamps said via Daily Mail.
