A number of Premier League stars are facing the prospect of missing the 2022 edition of the World Cup in Qatar, after picking up injuries in the ongoing season.
The global football showpiece is scheduled to officially kick off in mid-November, occasioning a break from league football.
With the tournament only a few days away, several Premier League players who are currently out injured are facing a race against time to get fit in time for the competition.
However, some have been ruled out altogether as they won't be fit early enough for the tourney.

Arsenal's Emile Smith Rowe, Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante, and Liverpool star Diogo Jota headline a list of players who won't play a role in the tournament.
Smith Rowe is understood to be recovering after having surgery on a groin tendon, while Kante is sidelined with a hamstring problem.
Liverpool's Jota will be unavailable for Portugal with a calf injury alongside Pedro Neto of Wolves, who is battling an ankle injury.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that eight stadiums will be made available for the 64 matches to be played during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Al Bayt Stadium and Lusail Iconic Stadium are perhaps the most significant for the tournament, with the latter set to host the final.
Architecturally breathtaking, Lusail Iconic Stadium is also Qatar's biggest stadium and can seat 80,000 spectators.
