The goal is called an Olympic Goal in Spanish Football.

What is an Olympic Goal?

The goal got its name after Argentina’s Cesaro Onzari scored a goal from a corner-kick in 1924, Goal reported. Onzari scored against the then Olympic champions, Uruguay, and the goal became known as a Gol Olimpico, which is Spanish for Olympic Goal.

Griezmann’s goal technically hit the defender on the line before going in, but the player was credited with the goal. He then doubled his side’s lead in the 71st minute of the game as Atletico looked to be cruising to victory.

Nabil Fekir grabbed a goal in the 84th minute of the game as Betis gave Atleti a late scare.
