Despite his fitness issues, PSG are understood to be interested in signing the World Cup-winning midfielder.

The French giants added Vitinha and Renato Sanches to their ranks during the summer, but the club's sporting director Luis Campos is said not to be happy with the midfield options.

Le10Sport now claims the Parisians have shortlisted Kante among the top transfer targets to help bolster their midfield.

N'Golo Kante's contract situation at Chelsea

Meanwhile, PSG's interest in Kante comes when the midfielder has entered the final months of his contract at Chelsea.

The France international is contracted at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season, meaning PSG can get him for free next summer.

However, the Blues are understood to be keen to extend Kante's contract beyond June 2023.

The 31-year-old joined the west Londoners from Leicester City in the summer of 2016 and has since managed to make over 250 appearances for them.

He has also won a number of trophies with Chelsea, including the Premier League and the Champions League.
