  • Chelsea fans had a first glimpse of their new manager Graham Potter following his appointment as coach of the club
  • Potter, who replaced fan-favourite Thomas Tuchel as head coach of Chelsea last week, saw his side play out a 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg on his debut game as Blues boss
  • This was the 47-year-old ex-Brighton boss' first game in the Champions League as manager after admitting he had never attended a game in Europe's premier club competition before

Graham Potter finally supervised his first game in charge as Chelsea boss when the Blues hosted RB Salzburg at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.

The former Brighton manager, who admitted that he has never attended a Champions League game before, saw his side share the spoils with the Austrian giants in a frustrating 1-1 draw.

Sterling got Potter's era underway with a second-half strike which was cancelled by Noah Okafor with 15 minutes to end proceedings.

Below are some of the comments from Chelsea fans, who assessed the performance of the team under Graham Potter:

An optimistic fan @feroze17 tweeted:

"Everyone keep calm, it’s frustrating but it’s ONE GAME. He’s Graham Potter, not Harry Potter... things will click soon I’m sure."

Another fan @_owurakuampofo lamented about the club's poor start to the Champions League with a game against AC Milan on the horizon:

"Not the best start for Graham Potter. Chelsea now with just one point after two games and successive matches against AC Milan upcoming."

@grovemaster72 argues Potter's appointment is the worst decision made by the club:

"Potter is the biggest mistake Chelsea has made this season, mark my words it'll be Chelsea's worst season and it'll end in premium tears."

A more pessimistic user @Sheyi_Creamzon wants Graham Potter out already:

"Potter out."

@gate17marco wrote:

"Different manager, same old Chelsea."

Chelsea play out a frustrating draw with Salzburg on Graham Potter's debut game in charge as Blues boss

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea manager Graham Potter was left frustrated as Red Bull Salzburg spoiled his first match in charge with a late equaliser in Wednesday's 1-1 draw in the Champions League.

Potter was on course for a winning debut when Raheem Sterling put Chelsea ahead early in the second half at Stamford Bridge.

But the former Brighton boss, who replaced Thomas Tuchel last week, had to settle for a point as Noah Okafor punished sloppy defending to equalise in the closing stages.
