Oleksandr Zinchenko's move to end Youri Tielemans' pursuit

The Ukraine international is said to have sought to know what role he would play at Arsenal as he does not want to move if he is not guaranteed first-team football.

It is understood that Arteta is keen to explore the possibility of deploying Zinchenko as a central midfielder should he complete a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Such a move would see the Gunners end their interest in Leicester City ace Youri Tielemans.

Zinchenko has spent close to six years with the Citizens since he joined them from Russian minnows Ufa back in 2016.

During the period, the Ukrainian has won four League titles as well as four League Cups and the FA Cup.

Arsenal submit bid to sign ex-Chelsea striker

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Arsenal have submitted an offer to sign Alvaro Morata as Mikel Arteta steps ups efforts to sign a striker.

Morata has been a Chelsea player before but did not perform as expected despite his huge transfer fee.

Arsenal are however more interested in landing Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City and will look keenly at other options should the move fail.
