Why Petr Cech quit influential Chelsea role
Metro UK now reports that Cceh decided to quit Stamford Bridge after he disagreed with Boehly over a key transfer decision.
It is believed that the former Czech Republic international was opposed to Chelsea's move to loan Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan.
According to The Telegraph, part of Cech’s decision to leave his role was based on the feeling that his influence in the transfer business had been diluted under the new ownership.
Previously, the former goalkeeper acted as a go-between for Chelsea managers and director Marina Granovskaia.
However, Granovskaia’s exit saw Boehly assume the role of ‘interim sporting director leaving Cech isolated.
