Cristiano Ronaldo has promised to compensate the homeowner of where his £1.7milion Bugatti Veyron crashed.

The Man United striker was left counting losses after the supercar crashed into a property in Majorca on Monday morning, June 20.

According to Mirror UK, the 37-year-old Portugal captain was not driving the Bugatti Veyron when the incident happened.

It is understood an employee of Ronaldo who is thought to have been one of his bodyguards was driving the sports car when it came off the road and smashed the perimeter wall protecting the house.

The accident happened on a minor road near Joan March Hospital in the municipality of Bunyola.

Cristiano Ronaldo to pay for damage caused by his Bugatti

The Sun reports the yet-to-be-named homeowner of the property where Ronaldo's car crashed approached the footie star over the matter.

The accident victim is said to have explained to Ronaldo what transpired, with the United star offering to pay for the damage caused by his car.

“I had to wait for a while for the door to be opened but I was met by a very polite man and woman," the homeowner divulged to respected island newspaper Ultima Hora.
“On behalf of Ronaldo, they promised to pay all the damage the Bugatti had caused. They told me to get everything fixed and keep the invoices," the homeowner added.

Ronaldo sends Sporting Lisbon heartwarming message

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Manchester United attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a heartwarming message to Sporting Lisbon.

Ronaldo is widely regarded as a Sporting legend, having emerged from the Portuguese club to shoot to stardom.

The club's academy was recently marking its 20th anniversary and Ronaldo took the time to send them a special message.
