His career at Camp Nou has been littered with a raft of challenges ranging from disciplinary breaches to lack of fitness.

However, Metro UK reports the Frenchman appeared to rediscover the form that convinced Barcelona to fork out £117million for him back in 2017 last season.

It is for this reason the La Liga giants are said to be desperate to have him renew his contract with them.

Ousmane Dembele prepared to move to Chelsea

But according to The Sun, the 25-year-old is prepared to depart this summer, with a move to Chelsea on the cards.

It is understood Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to add Dembele within his ranks as he pushes to build a formidable team that can challenge Man City and Liverpool for titles.

Both Tuchel and Dembele have worked together before at Dortmund, and the Blues boss is convinced the winger can aid his quest to fight for the Premier League title.

On his part, Dembele is said to be keen to reunite with his former manager but wants to be sure he will be given a key first-team role as he is unwilling to warm the bench.

Arnold also divulged into the transfer saga of Frenkie de Jong, revealing that it is only finer details of the transfer that are yet to be completed.

The Red Devils are yet to make any signing so far this summer, with De Jong widely linked with a reunion with Ten Hag at Old Trafford.
